When her sister Stacie has a big fight with her best friend, Barbie (Kelly Sheridan) tells her the story of a pair of inseparable friends, Alexa (Cassidy Ladden) and Liana (Kelly Sheridan). Walking home through the woods one day, they meet an old woman begging. Liana gives her some food, and the old woman thanks her by giving her a mirror as a present. The mirror turns out to be magical, with a muse named Melody (Maryke Hendrikse) trapped in it. Melody had hidden in the mirror to escape the evil fairy Lydia (Kathleen Barr) and keep the key to the Diamond Castle, the home of all music, safe after Lydia had turned Melody’s two friends into stone. With evil Lydia and her dragon already on the way, Alexa and Liana must hurry to the Diamond Castle to free Melody’s friends and defeat Lydia. They face many dangers and see their relationship strained, but eventually discover value of true friendship and get help from friends they meet along the way.
