Baraka is a film without dialog or named actors reading from a script. The story does not contain a traditional plot, but unfolds by presenting images and music from around the world. Subjects of the film include many aspects of life on planet earth. Scenes include the day and night sky in various states of weather activity, landscapes from deserts to mountains, humans and animals performing rituals, busy city streets, crowded train stations, and factories. All scenes incorporate music from different corners of the earth and in very different styles. Various cinematic and photographic techniques including time-lapsed photography are used to present and display our home planet.
