A serial killer named "The Cusp" tortures his victims by bringing them to the point of death and then reviving them, and repeating this process over and over again until they wish to die for good. Maya (Tessie Santiago) was a former victim, but she gained psychic powers after she escaped from his torture. She is now working with the FBI to help capture the serial killer. To do so, she must use her psychic powers to enter his twisted, depraved mind. However, if she dies in his mind, she will die in real life.
