Ryan (Chris Evans) is minding his own business when he gets a call on his cell phone. At first, he thinks it is a wrong number; then, it turns it to much more. That one phone call launches him into the middle of a kidnapping plot involving Jessica Martin (Kim Basinger), whose family has been abducted; and a detective (William H. Macy), who doesn’t know who’s good and who’s bad. Ryan must race to help Jessica, as her only hope is the tenuous, random cell phone connection between their two phones, the result of a wrong number, which could easily have been ignored.
